About the Empowerment

The most precious possession we have is our own human life because it provides us with the chance to enjoy human conditions, to be of benefit to others, and to create the ultimate peace of full enlightenment. If we use our life in this way we will make the most of this rare and precious opportunity. For this reason, we must overcome the obstacles to living a long and meaningful life. If we lose this life we do not know when another similarly qualified human life will come again.

Buddha Amitayus is the enlightened being who grants Long Life, Good Fortune, and Wisdom. By receiving this Blessing Empowerment and engaging in the Yoga of Buddha Amitayus sincerely we can protect and increase our own and others' life span, good fortune and wisdom.

During this very special weekend Kadam Ricc Bishop will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Amitayus, and give commentary to the long life practice "The Yoga of Buddha Amitayus". We will also have the opportunity to engage in a half day meditation retreat on this practice on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to come and receive these amazing blessings!

What is an Empowerment?

At an empowerment we receive special blessings that heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature. Once we have received an empowerment, if we rely sincerely upon that Buddha with strong faith, we will directly receive their protection, blessings and care in this life and in life after life.
