General Program Class Titles

Discover bliss

Vajrapani Center's General Program's guided meditation classes are appropriate for both beginners and those who already have some experience of meditation.

Each class is both part of a series, and yet also self-contained. This means that you can drop in to any class at any juncture and still feel that you have something worthwhile to take home with you. Each class is ninety minutes in length and consists of two guided meditations, a short talk on how to apply meditation to our daily life, an opportunity for questions and answers and light refreshments.

Our aim, as at all Kadampa Buddhist Centers, is to provide tools and methods whereby people can find increased peace and happiness in their daily lives. Everyone is welcome!

March classes:

Clear Sky Mind

During these classes, we will explore Buddha's teachings on the location, nature and function of the mind. Taking Buddha's insight to heart, these meditations improve our concentration and wisdom, allowing our inner peace to manifest. These meditatons also offer powerful new ways to solve our daily problems. No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome.

February - Guide to the Bodhisattvas Way of Life
A Buddhist Poem for Today

On Sunday mornings we will engage in beautiful meditations on the verses of this very special poem. This famous and universally loved poem for daily living has inspired many generations of Buddhists and non-Buddhists since it was first composed in the 8th century by Shantideva. Meditating on these verses has a profoundly liberating effect on the mind. The poem invokes special positive states of mind, moves us from suffering and conflict to happiness and peace, and gradually introduces us to the entire Mahayana Buddhist path to enlightenment.
